Best for Winter

"Better than any frameless wipers that I've used. I have tried pretty much most or all the frameless brands such as michelin, armour all, bosch, trico, regatta, valvoline, rain-x. These teflon winter blades are by far the best for winter."

"Why I didn't read reviews before I bought these wiper blades? They are awful, IMO. The worse wiper blades that I ever had on my cars. They work only when the window is absolutely wet with running water otherwise they scratch window, leave dirty areas."

As the name implies: they wipe in winter!

"(Saturn Vue Hybrid 2007)

Stay contoured well to windshield, and clean with almost no streaks (as long as their is enough fluid).

The sleeve surrounding the support structure does actually provide extra protection and strength against ice and wind.

The only truly negative comment is the weak plastic connector for the short wiper, which cracked and made the blade come loose (used the connector from an old Reflex blade--nice fix).

Recommended for winter conditions, but nothing special during other seasons."

Absolutely terrible

"I don't know how Canadian Tire can justify selling these. The store book recommended them for the PT Cruiser but problems were evident immediately after installation. There were large streaks and unwiped areas; they are not nearly flexible enough and don't have any spring power to push down on the windshield surface. Forget about clearing ice or snow; these blades can't even clear off windshield fluid. I'm very disappointed as they shouldn't be recommended for a vehicle with a curved windshield. They work fine for some vehicles but the store should only be recommending these for vehicles that they are compatible with."

Only good if you have a flat windshield

"I've been using summer wipers for the last 5 years and got sick of them freezing up and not wiping. So I decided to get a set of these (2 front, 1 rear). Put 'em on and used them right away. They do clean really well and are quiet, but if you have a contoured windshield (or anything that's not relatively flat) then there will be a big area that's missed and not wiped. The blades aren't flexible enough and don't contour to the windshield if there's any curves. If you don't mind an unwiped portion (usually in the bottom corner), then go with these because they do clean the area they touch well. Or just go with Reflex wipers (which, by the way, are no good when there's some ice on the windshield). I personally kept 1 of these for my driver side and went and got summer wipers for the passenger side and the rear."

Use to be great - Not any more !

"I purchased a set of these Teflon Winter Blades for my SantaFe 2 years ago, and they were the best quality of wiper blades you could possibly ever buy. They were quiet, removed all water and snow, and lasted two years. The package is not red as shown, but blue in my Ontario store !

I purchased another set this year, and the quality has totally been removed from every aspect of these Teflon Winter Blades.

They were constantly noisy from day one, and the rubber coating started bulging from the wind, and peeling off within 30 days, and when it rained, only half the window would ever get cleaned and they never made it to see any snow but I'm sure that would have been a total disaster as well.

If you do buy this product, just remember to keep your receipt and the Canadian Tire money in a handy place and check out the warranty. You will definitely be needing your receipt, and sooner than you think.

Try the new Hybrid Reflex. If they don't work out, I will be shocked, and they carry a 1 year exchange warranty. I don't know what to recommend if that occurs ?

Get the Reflex wipers instead

"I put these on my Corolla. The 24" one works fine, but the 18" one doesn't match the contour of my windshield and leaves a big un-wiped patch in the middle. I've taken them back twice and get the same result. Based on my experiences from last year, reflex style wipers are better, and since they cost the same as these, I would recommend them instead."

No good for my Mazda

"Used these on my Mazda and found that they were only good during heavy snowfalls. During light snow or rain it didn't make good contact with the windshield and resulted in streaks or missed spots.

I had to remedy this by buying the springs that force the wiper arm down. Maybe they work better with other windshields but I was thoroughly disappointed."

No Good for GM cars

"Packaging says metal construction which is false. The piece that holds the wiper onto the car is thin flimsy plastic. This item is nearly impossible to remove without breaking the plastic part if you have a GM car. In fact it appears that no thought was given for removal for GM applications.
The plastic part might work OK for other brands of cars but I have no experience. Too bad because the rest of the wiper appears to be fine."

What Should I do?

Question:

I want to buy these blades, one of the blade sizes for my car is 19. This brand only has 18 or 20.

Which one should I go with? and why

Answer:

Best thing to do is look at the recommended sizing in store; they have a book and a machine which can help you find the right pair.

This brand does have 19 inch. Maybe they were just sold out at your Canadian Tire. I purchased a 19 inch myself. But check if you have enough room and if you do, go with the 20 inch. If there's not enough room and it's the passenger side, I'd go with the 18.

Answer:

Go with the 18 inch. it will give you one half inch less coverage at top and bottom but if you go with the 20 they may bang on window seals etc and get damaged

Answer:

If your windshield is relatively flat at the edges, then it should be OK. However, if you have a contoured windshield, it will not follow the contour and will not touch the windshield. I would suggest buying them and installing them out in the parking lot to see right away if they fit your windshield and bring them back if they don't (that's what I did).

Answer:

These blades did not follow the contour of the windshield of my 1999 Buick LeSabre and the passenger blade gets caught on the edge of the hood in the resting position.

Answer:

It will vary from windshield to windshield, for wipers with the most flexibility, perhaps try the Reflex or Armor-All wipers.

It is best to buy a set of wipers every six months as they do wear out. I keep a winter set and a summer set.

Answer:

Yes, but the sun's strong UV rays in the summer will shorten the life of the rubber cover so I switch to summer blades each spring which is why I try to find blades that are easy to remove. This way my winter blades last about 4 years.
