Garbage These units are garbage. Ive had to return 3 200W units and 1 400W unit because they wouldnt power on. I work with similar units in the past with no problems but since they redesigned them they are useless. May 21, 2010

GREAT FOR LAPSTOPS! Just drove from Winnipeg to Toronto & it worked GREAT for the laptop! HOURS and hours of DVD's played, and it charged the whole time! Don't know what the other guy did, but ours works great. $40 to keep the kids occupied for a 20+ hour drive was WELL worth it - even better to buy it on sale! Shows the output with on/off button! GREAT PURCHASE! December 23, 2008

Not for laptops This inverter says right on the box that it will power Laptops. It will only charge the battery when it is turned off. Otherwise it will shut down. It is absolutely fantastic for recharging cellphones, and PSP's. Just dont rely on it for a laptop as it will let you down. August 3, 2008

Great for emergencies. Since this inverter results in a “non-sinusoidal” AC voltage, in some rare cases, it may have some varying negative effects on electronics that specifically require sinusoidal AC voltage if used for long periods. However, in most cases it works just fine. It’s a useful little device to keep in a car, and combined with a 12V booster pack, it’s great for providing portable AC power or to use in a blackout.
