I can hear clearly
Simple to use, clear sound, I like that it is on a gooseneck and is more visible when driving (for GPS).

Be Careful with this one
I was happy to purchase this item on sale for less than half price, it looked sturdy, and of good quality. On the packaging, the manufacturer states that it supports various models of iPhone's, including the 3Gs model, which is what I had, I followed the instructions which were easy to understand. I mounted my 3Gs in the cradle, plugged in the charging adapter, plugged the unit into the auxiliary outlet, my phone turned on, I pressed the scan button on the FM Transmitter and my iPhone turned off and will no longer power up, it's dead completely, I guess that's a bad thing. I don't know if I had purchased a defective unit, But I do Know that my iPhone was working perfectly fine before I used the" 4 in 1 FM Transmitter".Be Careful !

Mine lasted 4 years
Bought this in July 2009 for $11 and has lasted until a few days ago. I'm lost without it! So glad to see CT still sells this. Mine was white, but I like the black more, so I hope my local store has them in stock.
Not sure why it stopped working, maybe overuse? Probably too many coffee spills on it, actually....
I even took it with me on a trip to Texas to play my itouch on road trips. This little gadget works perfectly with my iphone 4. I never play cd's anymore, and I love how if my phone rings I can hear the caller through the speakers and can talk back hands-free (well, shout, since it's on speaker and it's plugged in below the wheel). Great for a quick charge too.
I hope the new one I buy lasts just as long! Was the best $11 ever spent.

Great item!
I bought this for my daughter Sep. 2010 and she used it with her iTouch3 and she loved it. No static, no interference, and charged properly. In 2011 she got the iTouch4 and everything worked great. In the fall of 2012 she bought herself an iPhone5 and still all was well. She drives a Chrysler Intrepid 2002 and it stayed in place very well while driving over our infamous bumpy dilapidated roads in Québec. It even worked in my Toyota!
Well the gravy train had to come to end someday, and it happened in March 2013. It stopped working. I guess all the plugging in and removing over the years strained something, but for the price I paid, 15$, it was a great device while it lasted. I'll wait for it to go on sale again and get her a new one soon.

Good for the Sale Price
I bought this on sale for ~$17 and it's certainly worth that. It comes with a 3.5mm audio cable for your music. If you want to charge, you either need an older iPhone/Blackberry that uses the 30pin cable that comes out of the bottom of the unit, or you can buy a cable that connects your phone's charger to the regular size USB port on the right side of the transmitter. My phone uses micro USB on the bottom to charge so I had to buy a 1-foot, micro to regular, USB cable online for a couple bucks.
I haven't had problems with the unit falling over or the grey gasket breaking, but I've only had it for a few weeks and I've only used it in the city a few times. My phone is an LG Optimus One, so it's fairly small and light.
I mostly bought this for longer car trips because my phone's GPS function eats the battery and this lets me use the GPS and listen to music at the same time as charging, exactly what I was looking for.
I would have given it a better rating if it didn't have the 30 pin connector hardwired into the bottom. With the audio, USB and 30 pin cables sticking out, it does make a bit of mess of wires, but it's out of the way of my steering wheel in my car, so no problem.

Do NOT USE FOR IPHONE
This car charger killed my iPhone 3gs. Plugged in my iPhone on the way home from work and my phone just went black.wouldn't turn back on and got really hot for a half hour. Changed out the battery and charging port , but the phone still won't work. If you want a car charger for your iPhone by it from apple or make sure it is a good quality charger. I went on Google and found out other people had the same problem with cheep car chargers. Don't take the chance its not worth it

Adds Static When Charging
Adds static when charging. Don't believe me? Try this:
Hook up your phone to everything including charging. Play music from your phone through your car speakers. Pause music. Noticeable static. Unplug power from your phone. No static.
I should have known as there were four of these on the rack, two of which had obviously been returned as they were either stapled, or taped shut. If I had paid more than $15 for it, I'd be returning it. Still might.

Design and Quality Issues
"The unit does not secure properly in lighter socket and tends to tip over to one side or the other as you drive. I tried jerry-rigging a solution with limited success. The input that plugs into the iPhone fell apart after a short period of time and the wires disconnected. Also, not a useful design if you drive stick: unit gets in the way. The transmitting function was fine."
