Good, but Permatex Blue UPC80506 is better
For regular sealant applications, this Black RTV works well.
In applications, where you need the RTV to hold parts together, then the blue is a better choice. Based on my experiences, the blue dries into a much firmer silicone, which sticks to metals and plastics much better than any other silicone I have found. In addition, at the time of this writing, the blue does not give off a vinegar odour while drying, while the black does.
One annoying thing about these Permatex silicones, is that the white plastic caps, tend to crack, making it impossible to tighten the cap fully. The silicone then hardens in the tube. Be careful when putting the cap on, to not overtighten it. I usually put a wire tie on the cap, right after purchase, and that tends to keep the cap together.
All in all, it's the best silicone I have been able to find.

Good stuff
I use this stuff all of the time when doing any kind of work on my car. So far I have used it when I took the throttle body off of my motorcycle as a gasket, I used it as a valve cover gasket on my civic after adjusting the valves. I also used it when I installed a new exhaust flange (near the rear axle) on my town car. All repairs have all held up nicely with no leaks in just over a year.
The only negative thing I notice with this product is that its really hard to squeeze out of the needle point adapter thingy.
If I am in a tight situation first I will grab this stuff(if there's a chance I will need to remove it if it doesnt work) then next will be the jb weld, then a replacement part.
