A Canadian Tire product embarrasement
This product utilizes an electro-magnetic sensing strip placed on the inside of the bumper of which reading has to work through your bumper first and then senses conductive objects as opposed to ultra sonic sensors that reads all objects.
The owner`s manual does not define what a conductive object is but if the sensor is only looking for ferrous metals that are magnetic that the sensor may only be able to read, what of all the objects you can hit that are non-metallic?
In my opinion, an ultra sonic sensor is the only way to go.

Waste money and time
I'd brought and install few months ago. The first problem is the sensor wire is too short. I'd try very hard to find a place in trunk to install. But today, I found it is dead. It's only a beep when I put it in reverse, when I continue backup, no warning beep, so don't waste money to buy this garbage.

DO NOT BUY
Installed on Toyota Sienna 2007. I became suspicious when I unpacked the sensor strip: It's very fragile (aluminum foil, sticky on 1 side), doesn't feel "industrial" at all.
I did remove the rear bumber cover to stick the sensor strip properly.
Wires too short to hook up to the backup light ( not a big issue).
BUT here is where it gets worse: once installed, I tested it to find that the MAX. DETECTION RANGE WAS ABOUT 4 inches (not 36 inches or so like stipulated in the manual).
Now I can't return it to the store because the sensor strip is stuck un the bumper!!!
DO NOT BUY it unless you want to waste your money.
P.S. I had the opportunity to try a factory installed parking sensor on a Ford F-150, this one works well, it's a real safety feature unlike the Yada I bought thinking it would perform almost as well as the Ford's.

parking sensor
I bought this product few days ago and asked for installation fee, they said $135, more than what you pay for the product, ridiculous! I tried to install it myself in my 2010MazdaCX-9, and found out that the wire that will connect to the sensor stripe going to the rear bumper is too short for my vehicle because the reverse light is connected at the lift gate of the car, I ended up returning the product.

Works good on my work Car
I installed it my self. It works well, easy sticker on inside of my plastic bumper. a little sensitive but works great for tight street parking.
