Wow! I bought these to replace exposed 100 W light bulbs in the basement, which is partially finished. When another bulb blew, I reached for the halogen bulbs I had bought and noticed the caution written on the side. Because the kids play in the basement and have broken a few bulbs over the years, the threat of extremely hot shattered glass didn't sit well with me. So, I decided to bite the bullet and bought these. To my surprise, they produce as much light as the 100 W bulbs I replaced, and they are truly omnidirectional. And, wow, sturdy! The box says that they are not for enclosed fixtures. February 2, 2013

Better than CFL's Very satisfied with the light quality. Consider these to be a better option than CFL's. No mercury, virtually unbreakable. February 22, 2012

This Bulb Works This is the energy saving light bulb I have been waiting for. Dimmable, fully ramps up and down and works without problems in home automation. No CFL lag, the light is at full brightness right away. It is also a sturdy bulb, I do not fear for it breaking easily or having a toxic mess to clean up. Very expensive, too expensive really. I bought this bulb as an experiment. While I hope that this product succeeds, it needs to come down in price first. February 3, 2012

Very bright and natural I've purchased both the "40W equivalent" and this "60W equivalent" bulb. In both cases very satisfied with the light quality - it looks clean and natural. The 60W is definitely brighter and suits the lamps in my living room better. Compared to my old incandescent bulbs I prefer the light that these produce. Plan to buy a few more in the coming months.
