Well under any standard "bar"
This stool appeared to be solid enough; however, note that it is only 24" high. Not really "bar" stool height, but perhaps okay for a child at the kitchen table.

great product at the price
Very well made and worth twice the price. I read the previous reviews and here are a couple of assembly hints. Use wood glue, I used Weldbond, but sand the mating surfaces as all the wood is varnished. Use a 1/4 inch ratchet with an allen adapter.

Decent stool
I have two of these stools that I use at my kitchen lunch counter, and I have had them for over five years.
The are constructed of quality wood with no cracks or splits, and the finish is polished and smooth.
My only complaint is that they tend to become loose, requiring you to re-tighten the screws. Some of the screws use an allen key, while others use a philips head. I misplaced the allen key and had to search for another one that fit.
When attempting to tighten the screws that had become loose, I found that not all of them would tighten back up again, so the stools remain loose and rattly, though they seem to still be safe to use.
At least, they haven't collapsed on me in the years I've had them, despite no longer being able to be tightened back up.
I tried some wood glue, which helped initially, but then they became loose again, and by that point I had loose flakes of dried glue falling off occasionally.
The wooden caps that cover the screw holes also pop off often, so I don't even bother putting them back on anymore.
Overall I like the stools, but I would like to see them remain more sturdy once assembled.

Practicle if not awe inspiring.
I'm not 100% sold on the product but for the price it is difficult to find a better solid stool. For appearance I prefer the Shinto stool also offered at CT.

HOT BUY
This is very well made. It has handled falling over countless times and has not suffered. The joints are tight, and any wear on the finish is not noticable at all. A super addition to your home.

Very strong and sturdy stool, can't get a better deal than this. Good when you need extra chair for visitors.

great little stool for the $$
I bought 2 of these for taking to pottery shows. The stool is well-made and often on special, for a good little stool made of solid wood, you will be hard-pressed to find a better deal than this one. Takes being transported to shows and back, not always very gently, and not a sign of wear...

Very Good Stool
This is a very easy to assemble stool (might want to have a little wood glue handy but its not necessary) looks great in the kitchen and as a plant stand.
