Nice bookcase
Bought this yesterday to hold movies, laptop (when connected to the tv), plants and nick-nacks. It was easy to assemble by myself and looks good. I used my own screwdriver instead of the supplied one, but it can be put together with only the included tools. Just be careful not to mark it up while assembling. Even removing the letter stickers can remove some of the finish. Overall, I'm happy with my purchase.

Good for assemble-yourself furniture
Purchased to use as bookcase in daughter's bedroom. Was easy to assemble in that all pre-drilled holes aligned perfectly with installed connectors, and quite solid for ready-to-assemble furniture. Instructions were easy to follow, and all pieces were well marked. Some finished surfaces had minor nicks, including a few edges, which had been touched up with matte-black paint. All in all a nice, solid piece of furniture for the price paid, and exceptional value at the CT sale price.

Great Deal
I recently purchased this item and my husband put it together with very little difficulty. Good quality for the money and looks great.

Assembly issues
So there were some problems with the assembly first off, some of the clips didn't line up with the holes, it was two pieces on the first unit I got, I returned the whole thing and got a new one. Opened the box and one of the shelves had a big gouge in it, took it in on it's own and they gave me one off the floor model.

product design & quality control issues
We found a couple of deficiencies with this product that made for a longer assembly than is advertised with this product. The first problem was in attaching the base to the side pieces, there were dowels in the side pieces but no corresponding dowel holes in the base. Since marking the place where the dowel holes would have been complicated we elected to saw off the dowels and use only the hardware to attach the side pieces and that seems to be holding alright. The next problem existed with the installation of one of the fixed shelves, the pre-drilled holes where the pins were to go were not in the right place so we ended up sawing a small amount off the end of the shelf so that it would fit in properly (sort of). The alternative was to return the product to the store and exchange it, but the new one would probably have been manufactured to the same high standard as the first one AND there was no way I was going to take it apart and repack it in the box. Also noted a few minor scratches but since the bookshelf is located in a bedroom behind a door it not so much of an issue. I wouldn't recommend it to anyone because of the issues related to design and quality control mentioned above. I wouldn't buy another one unless had assurace that these issues have been resolved.

Easy to assemble, pretty sturdy shelves
We bought this for a new homeowner on a tight budget. It is quite straightforward to assemble these shelves, although it is never as easy as shows in the CT video for the AssembleEase line of furniture. Usually there is some fastener missing and you still need tools to tighten a joint.
There was a little bit of wobble when we first assembled the shelves, but a little work with a screwdriver took care of the loose joint. The drawer was easy to assemble and runs smoothly, but I'm not sure how well it will stand up to a lot of opening and closing.
Overall, not a bad shelf. You can get better ones at Canadian Tire, but this one comes as part of a set so you match your furniture. It isn't a very handsome shelf, but some primer and paint took care of that problem for us.
