Black Metal Gate
Finally a pressure gate that works
If you live in a condo you may have all of these 'open space' design concept thingies that are a total bane for families with smal children. In particular access to kitchen and spare rooms may become a hazard. This gate works very well as the bottom and top can be at different widths (eg floorboards or skirting or window panes) and you can mix and match extensions, eg only use one on one side or two of different lengths on each. The way the top needs to be adjusted to fit is slightly hard to grasp but obvious once you see it is designed to keep the top section of the gate straight and true when you open the gate itself.
Buying a second one hopefully that will work for access to the second bedroom.

I bought this gate to keep pets contained, and it has been perfect for that purpose. The gate looks good, but my only problem was that it has to be perfectly level to work properly (with the automatic latching mechanism). It took several tries to get it perfectly level, and even still it occassionally comes out of alignment. Other than the fact that I sometimes have to manually close the latch, this gate is really nice and suits my purposes perfectly!

This gate is well worth the extra money, most other gates are junk. Easy to put up and take down if needed. You can purchase gate extensions for about $20. Other gates cost at least $50 and some of them you have to step over.

I had a supergate and it didn't hold my 3.5 lb puppies so ran out and grabbed this one. What a difference!! This is worth every penny for ease of installation - it took me less than 5 minutes to get it completely set up. In addition it has a double lock and you don't have to hi-jump to get over or reset the tension every time you use it the way you did on the supergate. It also blends exceptionally well with all the black appliances in my kitchen and looks very professional compared to the supergate. So glad I paid the extra for this one, especially after the nightmare of the supergate.

Had this gate while on sale at $35. I wasn't planning to buy it at $70, but all the nice security gates are so overpriced...
Anyway, at $35 that's a great deal. The only concern is that it's sold for fitting at a door spot, if you want to install it at the top/bottom of stairs, you'll have to buy the separately sold extensions, in another store, so you can easily exceed the $100+. But while on sale, for about $50 with extensions, even if you have to find them elsewhere, great choice!
