Great While it lasted...3 Months
I bought this timer to use with the outdoor lamp post in front of my house. I really liked the photoelectric feature that would turn the light on and off based on how much daylight the eye detected, instead of having it set to turn on at different hours of the day. The eye was a great feature due to the ever changing seasons here in Canada daylight comes and goes at different hours of the day thought out the year and frequently my lamp post has stayed on after the sunrise or not turned on in the evening. By detecting the light I would be saving energy by only using the lights when needed. Unfortunately after only 3 months of use the photoelectric sensor died and my lights now remain permanently on. I will be returning to CT and we'll see how the next one works out. If it doesn't last longer than the first I will be looking for a new brand of timer.

Easy to use timer
This photoelectric timer is perfect for use with outdoor Christmas lights. It has two outlets for electric plugs and is so easy to use. The timer can be set on dusk to dawn use or it can be set for any number of hours. A simple black button on the front is pushed to set the current time and pushed again to set the time you'd like the power to go on, and again a push sets the time for the power to shut off. Even in harsh weather, the timer never went out. It's a great deal for the money.

Quit in no time at all
Bought this new last year, and used it for one season for my outdoor Christmas lights. It worked for a week this year, then would no longer turn the lights off. Past the one year warranty period from Canadian Tire, even though it was only used for a few weeks in total, so this was just a waste of money.

A great buy!
I actually bought this timer @ home hardware for about the same price here on sale. It works great even from inside just underneath the window providing that the solar area is catching the light. What I really love about it is it has only the 2 prong holes in it, which is exactly what i needed for the lites. & SOOOO easy to use.

Helps us remeber our lights
Actually, it just does it for us. You set the length of time you want them on, and bingo, they're on at dusk.

Great in it's Simplicity
This is a great photoelectric timer for your Outdoor Christmas Lights. It is soooo simple to use. Plug it in, push the single black button until you set the number of hours you want your lights to stay on, and that's it. Very nice for setting the timer in even the coldest weather, and just as easy to change. (it IS quick!) As mentioned elsewhere, it's plug-in is only 2 prong, so you have to use 2 prong extension cords.

Makes No Sense
This would be a even better product if a 3-prong cord could be plugged into it. Was going to use for Christmas Lights but need to use a 50ft extension cord. Was useless because not a 3 prong and don't want to waste money to buy a 2-prong cord. DisAppointing so I returned it!!

Best Christms Ever
Fantastic, I did not have to remember to turn the lights on or off this year. I used it for the lights that were over the garage because the other one I bought was a dusk til dawn timer and would have had to go in the garage so as not to get wet from the snow.
I loved this, great price on sale too.

better than Noma's other photoelectric timer
I find this timer much better than their other timer that does pretty much the same thing for the same price. This one can be set for any time interval between 1 to 9 hours whereas the other one is only 2, 4, 6, 8 hours. The on at dusk photelectric sensor is a good feature, as I don't have to continually readjust it to the changing time of dusk as summer approaches. I leave it on at 9 hours pretty much throughout the year.
Currently I have it to set the Christmas lights, and I don't have to worry about forgetting to turn it off before I go to bed at night.
The other Noma photoelectric timer I mentioned seemed to have a mind of its own going on and off when it feels like it. I don't use that one much.

"Dusk" 60 minutes after dawn
The only problem we had with this unit was the Christmas lights coming on during a rainy, dark spell this morning.
