Does the Job, But the Screeching!
I got this last summer to improve the air circulation in a room. The product was effective and easy to set-up, but started to squeak. Recently set it up for getting heat to the same room, and the squeaking is nasty. The bearings that turn the fan must be defective. I will go to CT to see if they can do an exchange, or to the manufacturer who is not that far away. If not I will post a video with the screeching. Since I am not seeing this issue with others I will assume that it is atypical.

Perfect
This is perfect for what we need. We were not getting a lot of draw from the main vents when the AC was on. I bought 2 of these and we stopped sweating in 15 mins they did such a great job. What a heck of an idea and they work very very well and a cost effective way too.

love it
Made a big difference...on top floor, kept heat coming to a room that normally stays cool, and mad a significant difference in summer to same room that stays hot

not impressed
The features I liked, it turned on every time my furnace started... which is what I wanted. I think it helped move the air a little bit. BUT I didn't have the product even six months and it stopped working (just a hum and it's hot) -- probably motor is dead. I know there's a one year warranty so I hope I saved the receipt...

Seemed Like a good idea
It really seems like a good idea in theory, but put into practice it kind of falls short. I have a very tall narrow house and it was my hope that this would help to drive cool air up... I too suffered from a very hot top floor while my basement was freezing. It didn't work. It just seems easier to reduce the temp of the air-conditioner and have the fan blowing all the time and use the ceiling fans. Really no energy cost savings. They are also noisy, like any fan would be. I could see it working in a non air-conditioned setting, but it didn't work for my application.

Great product for this hot summer
I had a common problem. Cold air sits in the basement none upstairs. 78 degrees F upstairs at night.
I had blocked basement vents and returns and main floor returns (common practice for this issue) and still only a few degrees relief.
I bought 3 of these , one for front bedroom 1 for back bedroom and one for middle bedroom.
I also monitor the temp and humidity in the bedroom.
They work great I leave my central air blower on all the time, and these really do the work to pull the cold air up.
My bedroom on days when it is scorching is 70 to 71 degrees F. 50-60% humidity
Also my central air last year ran all the time non stop.
This year for hours on end it is idle. It is 12 years old and I would like it to last longer and now it will. I look forward to seeing a much lower power bill.
All the house is now way better balanced and installation literally took 30 seconds.
This is a great product and am one picky guy.
I give a strong recommendation.
I dont work for these guys I am your average consumer.
I would buy this again and am recommending it to Friends.
I think this is a Canadian product and made in Toronto. We should support our own guys and gals.

Not quite strong enough...
I bought this product, thinking that it would blow a good quantity of air or suck the hot hair from the vents to allow me to dry some wet mittens, hats, etc on a wire rack over it, but the volume of air it moves is quite small. Purchasing an oscillating fan w/heat would be much more effiicient, or an in line vent-fan.
