Good for the price
The price was irresistible and you get what you pay for. It's a little noisy, but was easy enough to setup and cools down our bedroom fairly quickly. I like the different fan and temp settings. I find when we're not using it the window panels are a bit thin and let in light/noise.

Good
I purchased this durring our last little heat wave here in bc.I installed it in the bedroom and it works pretty good.I would not try using it for more then a small room though.

A Fair Deal
I read some of the reviews and was a bit hesitant because of them but decided to try this a/c anyway. I'm happy I did because either some of the not so good reviews got a bad batch of a/c's or it's how it was installed.....don't know but this is a very quiet unit and absolutely does not vibrate. I hate excessive noise and I wouldn't be able to stand it if it was loud and it's not loud. It makes less noise than my fan. It cools fine, I don't want my place to be a freezer, it wasn't difficult to install and it's a resonable weight so I recommend it to anyone who needs an a/c that doesn't cost a fortune.There's no remote control but who cares.....if I can't get up and turn a dial I have issues. Any product is a matter of opinion so you sort of have to take reviews good and bad at your own discretion and see for yourself which is what I did and I'm glad I did. So now I'm ready for the humid summer weather that we are sure to eventually get.

Cools, but vibrates and is noisy
It cools fine. Features are fine. But this thing vibrates crazy. Had to insulate it from the window with rubber strips because you can feel the vibrations all the way into the floor. It is noisy, but better than being quiet and hot. Get what you pay for.

Basic/Manual controls are the best
This little A/C works quite well and noise level is acceptable.
The best feature is the manual controls : if there is a power outage or blip, the A/C comes back on with the power, unlike the electronic controlled A/Cs.
I've never been so tired that I couldn't get up and adjust the A/C, so a remote control is useless for me - it is just one more thing to waste batteries on and fill up our "recycling centers".

Great
Best bang for your buck. Worked very well to cool a bedroom.
Also, not too loud. We use the fan feature as "white" noise in the baby's room.

DEEP FREEZE A/C
This is the best A/C I have ever purchased! The fact that it is only 5000 btu's is crazy because I have this in my kitchen and it keeps my whole 1 bedroom apartment cold! The bedroom is not as cold as the living room but it's cool. And it doesn't leak inside. It's also pretty quiet. For the cost of this unit, it definitely exceeded my expectations. They only thing is that the features of the unit are fairly basic but they do the job if you just want it cold.

Great Product
Its not real quiet but its not loud either. It sure cools down my bedroom nicely! It has been a lifesaver over this hot summer. Its easy to install and not complicated to use.

not good enough
i bought it on july 13 ,2012 and read all reviews carefully,now wen the temperature adjusted to be cold more than half, the engine turn on like a car and makes noticeable noise,its my first day and if it keep making noise like this, ill return it.
ITS NOT QUIET FOLKS, pls dont give wrong advises to ppl,HOWEVER it can cold enough the room regardless to noise!

GREE Window Air Conditioner, 5,000 BTUs
Just bought 2 of these unit's for our up and coming hot summer in Winnipeg, MB. I bought them early because of our early little heat wave, +27 ect.. These unit's are very small an compact, very quite, and I live in a large 1 bedroom apartment and I've put one in my living room and the second one in my bedroom, with combined 10,000 BTU's on high it feels like your walking into a walk in freezer. Love the power supply built in to the cord, just one downfall, my 2 other 5,000 BTU's were digital and came with remotes, but for the quietness of these makes up for it. I give it a 4/5 star rating, and totally recommend this unit for the cost and efficiency, great buy!!
