Drips!
According to the answer provided in the Q&A, this unit is supposed to self-evaporate the water that builds up in the unit. My unit, which is less than 2 months old, constantly drips water from the exterior corner onto my neighbour's patio. It only started doing this recently. Even after removing the unit and letting the water drain, then reinstalling, the unit continues to do this.

COLD!!!
I live in a 1 bedroom apartment(approx 800 sq feet)and the only window that I could install this a/c in is my bedroom window. At first it REALLY cooled my bedroom but nothing was getting to the rest of my apartment so I purchased a fan(product # 43-5649-6)and placed it in my bedroom doorway so that the cool air from my bedroom was being blown to the rest of my apt.Boy did this work!! The rest of my apt quickly cooled off which made coming home from work on those hot summer days a real treat! There's no greater feeling than being in 30-35'C heat all day and then opening your door at home and feeling that blast of cold air! No more sleepless nights during the summer due to hot muggy weather thanks to this gem! Lots of great features including a remote control and a timer.I personally run it 24/7 during the summer months. My power bill takes a huge spike but it's worth every penny!

BLOWS!!!
I installed this unit at the top of my stairs on the second floor of my house. Keeps the whole second floor nice and cool which is over 800 sq ft. As well with being at the top of the stairs the cold air also drifts down the stairs into the front entrance and living room.
Did an amazing job keeping the house cool on that 35 C day. As well removed lots of the humidity which makes a world of a differance.

Working fine so far!
Easy to install, and began working right away. After a couple of hours the place did cool down.
The size to be cooled is larger than the 450 sq ft. We have a open concept living/dining/kitchen and all areas were cooled down nicely in the the high humidy/high temps of today (temp 29C and humidity of 38 C).
Worked Beautifully!
We were also was pleasantly surprised that the 10,000 unit was on sale when we got to Canadian Tire. We saved 60 bucks in the store!
I just hope it lasts as long as my old air conditioner did! Time will tell.

Good Value for Money
Well, what does an air-conditioner do - cool down your room, right? On this criterion alone, the unit has passed my simple scale of merchantability - fitness for the purpose it was sold. It would certainly help, however, if this air-conditioner could run in "Dry" mode DURING its cooling operation, but the user's manual cautions against it. As a result, in a high-humidity location as mine, it is easy to be at the right temperature but a little clammy - humidity control is not so great. I share another reviewer's comment that a full-featured timer would certainly enhance this product. While overall, it does what it is meant to do, my serious concern is that we tend to get discontinued products from the US. This item is not even on the manufacturer's list of products on its web site - it appears that Whirlpool has stopped its room-air-conditioner line in favour of central-air-conditioning. I do not like the frequency of thermostat clicks, and it probably explains why a dedicated outlet straight from a 15-amp breaker is a stated requirement in the literature that is to be installed just for this item. The bottom line, of course, is that I got what I paid for.

excellent buy!
I use this AC to cool the main floor of our duplex, it keeps the 500 sq ft. cool during those 30+ Ottawa summer days. The dehumidifier feature is awesome to for the not so hot but humid days. Its been used for 1 summer and looks like new, with no maintenance.
The only addition that I would like to see would be a programmable timer to set it and forget it. The current 24 hour timer is good, but I have to set it every morning so I can get home from work and be cool, but not have it run all day. This would probably drive the price up another 75-100 so all in all, a great buy!
This will not disappoint!

What A Work Horse!
What a great working air conditioner this is. I have an "I" shaped 2 bedroom apartment and it keeps it just perfect for me. I like it a bit on the cool side and it does the job beautifully.
Looks great in the window, was very easy to install and the remote control feature definitely makes it worthwhile as well.
Noise level is not too bad compared to some other units and brands that I've had over the years. This is my first Whirlpool a/c and I would definitely highly recommend this product to anyone.

Very Good Air Conditioner
First time I have bought a new air conditioner and I am very happy with my purchase. I have a medium sized 4 1/2 and it cools my entire apartment. The 6th sense system is also very handy.
