Good Value
These are great filters at a good price. They work very well and are all you really need for basic filtering needs.

Poor Quality. Causes furnace to overheat.
I have always used the duststop premium Merv8 filters in my furnace with no problems, But after CT stopped selling the duststop filters in my size, I installed this Merv8 filter in my system. The furnace would keep overheating and trip out on the high temperature limit sensor. I hadn't linked the two issues together, but after the furnace repairman could not find a problem, he recommended changing to a different filter. I picked up the duststop filters from another store and the furnace has been fine ever since.

great filters at great price
These are so much better than the fibreglass filters. They actually trap nearly all the dust particles rather than wait till they cake on like the fibreglass ones in my 96% HE furnace. I bought a few @8.99 on the recommendation of a friend and it was a mistake to only buy a few. I should have bought dozens because this will be the only kind of filter I will ever use. I'm going to have to stock up on this before the price goes up again. Do yourself a favour and switch to this and don't look back.

Good low cost filter
I started using this brand after using a low quality filter, and this one worked much better. It has stayed sturdy during extensive use, low cost, and filters at a merv rating of 8. Occasionally, it does go on sale. I will be trying a higher merv rating from this manufacturer to see if I notice a difference in air quality.

misshaped filters frames
The filters have a bevelled frame and will not fit properly in the ISB Caddy wood furnace. In this application, 2 filters are required and one sits onto the frame of the second filter when installed properly. Because of the bevelled frame on the filters, they do not seal the air flow that is supposed to go through them. This year Canadian Tire is not carrying another brand of filter that can be used with a square card board frame. Unfortunately Garrison does not offer a web address on thier packaging so I can contact them directly for their recommendations on my application of their filters. .

Good value for the money!!
Have used this type of filter for many years. The more expensive ones don't push enough air through to my upstairs rooms. At 7.99 for 2 I change the filter every month and set the filter indicator as such on my programable thermostat; combine that with a swordfish uv light on the return before the filter and you get excellent air purification and filtration..

Not Quality
I was not impressed by this filter. It is flimsier than other comparable brands and was not as effective. The real reason I decided to write a review was a caution for others. I placed this filter in my high efficiency furnace and the pressure of the air movement caved this filter in. When I went to remove it, the filter was essentially in half and not providing protection. It got caught on my blower motor and ripped when I tried to extract it. On top of that, all the "particles" that it trapped before it caved in came out when I tried to extract it.
I strongly suggest spending a few more dollars on other products. I can't afford to replace a $6000 dollar furnace because the filter doesn't work as intended, but I can spend a few more dollars to ensure it doesn't happen again.

Worth the money.
Very effective and if you change them when you should, they do their job.
