MTD DOES NOT HONOUR WARRANTY
Purchased this unit Oct./11, worked ok, only has an hour on the engine. Stored in accordance to instructions in Manual, wouldn't start this Oct. Taken to their Warranty Centre and was told the Carbuerator was shot after a total of 1 hours use. MTD is refusing warranty; said "we don't manufacture the gas???" My little Toro is still going after 12 years; DON'T EXPECT ANY HELP FROM MTD!

Great Little Machine
I was originally told by a clerk at CT that I didn't want this one because it just dumps out the snow and doesn't throw far. It would only be good for sidewalks he said. Ended up buying it anyway and it is great. I can do everything I want with it (which is my entire driveway). Very, very little pushing required. The auger pulls it along. It is fairly quiet and throws snow a huge distance especially if it is light.

Great lil thrower!
So, last winter my wife and I decided to get a snow blower.. first one ever.. after doing a ton of research I found this unit to be fitting my needs. It was on sale, and the electric start just made this a unit I had to get.. I couldnt afford the bigger units, so this was just right..
Since owning it the only real trouble we had was this winter.. After a night of long operation we just parked it outside. The next night I went to do the next part of our house and it wouldnt start, no matter what! I tried and tried to get it to start (even with electric start) and still nothing.. Pulled the plug, cleaned it off and put it back in, still no go. Put in some gas line deicer in the event it had water in the lines, and still nothing.. It took hooking up my propane powered heater and blowing hot air on it for 2 hours (raising the temp in the garage from -10 to + 20 in a couple of hours) to finally get it to start.. No problems since! Runs great, little tweaking with the choke, but other then that great machine!

Amazing Unit - Would recommend
I purchased this snow thrower as I had a large one before and I only have a drive way and some sidewalk to clear. The large one I had was TOO larger for the job and took up too much room.
I decided to pick this one up when I seen on sale in the flyer and I am very happy with it. It does an amazing job and I was surprised how far this thing can throw the snow.
This is going to safe my back!! Well worth the price I paid!
Of course this thing would not be great on 20ft icy snow drifts, but you never know... it still might surprise me!

Great Machine
I bought this for my 66 year old mother. It is small and light enough for her to handle. She loves it.
It cleans right down to the pavement unlike many of the larger snow blowers and it throws the snow farther than you would ever believe. I was really surprised by how well it works. It's great for the end of the driveway after the snowplow has gone by.
It's compact size means it doesn't take up a lot of room when you store it.
Highly recommend.

Works Well
This unit is great for driveways and sidewalk, if you don't have a massive area to clean. My throttle sticks on Really Cold Days. Mine was damaged in the box and it took ablout half an hour to open it up and connect the belt which had come loose which operate the auger.. Overall pleased but worried about sticking throttle and will have repaired once season is over.. MAke Sure to keep you Bill Of Sale or the repairs are on you....

GOOD FOR THE MONEY
I used this all last winter. did a good job.
not too good on the very deep stuff or the very wet stuff. just use it more often, don't wait till the end of the day to do one big job, do two or three smaller jobs during the day. not too good at moving the stuff on the street after the city comes by. got it out and used it for the first time this year (Dec 2009) the electric start got it going no problem after a few attempts.
good for small to med snow fall, no good for heavy snow fall.

Good snowthrower
If you are looking for a way to reuce your workload of shovelling your driveway and yet you can't afford the big snowthrowers or as in my case, just do not have an unlimited amount of storage in my garage, this machine might be for you. Is it as poswerful as the big snowthrowers, well no, BUT it is powerful enough to get the job done. I recommend keeping your gasoline fresh however. DO NOT leave the fuel in the machine over the summer and then when the big snowfall hits, expect this guy to start right away. If you look after this machine, it will last a very long time, but it does need to be babied a little. The comparable Honda or Toro equivilent is approx. $400 more
