Excellent Trimmer if You Modify It
The 3.7A Yardworks Trimmer is a well built electric grass trimmer and for $30 on sale, it is well worth the money when compared to other models. I've had it for about a month now and it runs perfectly. The motor seems durable and the parts seem very sturdy.
The only problem with this trimmer is the dual automatic feeding lines. Yardworks cleverly designed the spool to feed automatically and they include a knife-like part that cuts the line as you use the trimmer. This is an incredibly wasteful design and will cause you to use up the trimming line very quickly and spend lots of money on replacement lines.
Fortunately, the solution is very simple. First, unscrew the knife-like part from the trimmer. Then, open up the lid, pull out the spool and change the push-button spring with a higher tension spring. The spring that Yardworks installs is too soft and causes the spool to advance too often. I personally prefer to advance the string manually as it gradually wears out.
Once you change the spool-spring, it becomes a perfect trimmer and you will love it. Enjoy! :)

Strong and works well
Works very well. Line used up fast because of double line. Good price.

Work Great!
I did some research before buying this unit in the Spring. It looked like the best deal at that time.
I am very happy with the results and fully recommend this product.

Respectable Trimmer
Both our front yard and back yard are small, so a corded trimmer is appropriate. For trimming grass along the fence, house, and a couple trees, I didn't need anything spectacular. This trimmer meets our needs and I don't think anything comes close as far as price.
There isn't really much for me to pick apart as far as construction. I don't see any flaws that may make the unit fail user normal use.
It cuts fine for me, I've even used it on tall soaking wet grass.
My one complaint is that the design to keep the cord from coming unplugged doesn't work well for me. I either have to have a lot of free slack in the cord while I work, or hold the cord in one hand against the unit.
Overall: It's light enough, ergonomic enough, works enough, and is definitely cheap enough.

Great basic Grass Trimmer...
Now keep in mind a perfect grass trimmer does not exist. Some may argue this but it is true. For those of you looking for a basic trimmer that is not complicated and has enough power to do the essentials, then in my opinion this is excellent value. I bought this trimmer on sale ($27.99) on June 15, 2012 and used it for the first time three days later. I have to say i was impressed.
I have a Homelite Gas Trimmer (piece of junk), that I paid $100 for. This Yardwoorks electric trimmer serves my needs well and its build seems OK, even though it is all plastic. I guess the idea is not to use it as a hammer and it will last. Even if I get three years out of this unit I have a feeling I will buy another one of these (if they still make it). For the dollar you can not go wrong.

Great Little Trimmer
Just bought this line trimmer today and it works great.
I could see how it could use line very quickly with the Automatic Line Advancement but found if you gently set the trimmer head on the grass and not let it spool down, it will not let out more line hence saving you line.
I bought it for around my farm buildings and in my town lot. Tried it out in 2 foot grass around the buildings and it barely lost power. I was very surprised.
I am not sure if you can put bigger line on it, but am going to try to put some 0.095" in the head once I run out.
My only concern would be the durability since I will be using it for heavier use around the farm but for $30 (on sale) I am really not too concerned. I think it will be great for around my town lot though.
