Even if it was free...
I bought a unit to use for filling several different pieces of equipment. It sounded great, but only worked a couple of times before parts started falling off. As mentioned in other reviews it requires a hot day for the hose to be flexible, and the fittings leak. I'm glad I didn't use it on or near any gasoline sensitive areas. If this site would let me, I'd give it zero stars.

Useless product
If you only use this product in temperatures well above freezing, you might get more than one season out of it. My boys have bought three of these for me and I have cracked hoses and broken handles to show for it. Save some money and forget about this one.

Not Bad
Item is ok, got mine a number of years ago and no leaks. Not sure of the other reviews, no leaks on my item.

Looks good but...
I bought one of these "Home Filling Stations" because it looked like a great little unit for filling the lawnmower and snowblower. Unfortunately, it leaked badly from the handle/pump right from the start. I took it back and got another under warranty with exactly the same result. Don't know whether they've re-engineered the thing or not since then - but it surely needed it. I might try one more pump kit to see, and if it leaks it will be returned.

Don't buy this. Trust me.
Sorry CT, but this item should be removed from the shelves. It really doesn't work.
Stick with pouring the gas fellas.

Garbage
Bought one of these and the hose went all stiff and cracked. Do not buy this!

Don't buy this product
Sorry to say but this product is not something i would recommend. Its a nice idea but the quality of materials used in the product is poor. I bought mine a few years back and maybe the quality has changed but from reading some of the other reviews its looks like nothing has changed. I'm actually surprised that Canadian Tire is still seeling this product as it does not fit in with their usually high product quality standards.

Do Not Purchase
The concept for this product is great, however the execution of design is extremely poor. As with the rest of the comments, the product has developed a leaky handle after a few uses. And the product has NEVER been exposed to freezing conditions. (purchased in late spring, and developed leak within 2 months and less then 10 litres dispensed).
Also, when using this product to fill a small lawnmower type tank, a sudden surge of fuel is produced when the filling handle is released, often resulting in an overfilled tank.
The product advertises in the description "...No leaks, no spills, no overfills." It is my opinion that this product FAILS on all three counts.
Save your money, (and the environment) buy a regular gas can...this one is
DEFINITELY NOT WORTH IT!

Good concept, poor execution
The idea is very good, but there are issues with the design and the construction. In order to build vacuum to syphon fuel out of the can, the tank has no vent. As a resuslt the plastic container swells during warm weather. When you open the valve a significant amount of vapor comes out. The units is made of very poor quality materials. I replaced the hose with a flexible rubber fuel hose. The original one supplied is too stiff to use in cold weather with the snow blower. The hand pump is also fragile. I rebuilt the unit with copper tubing inside replacing flimbsy rubber and plastic bits. Overall, its a good concept, but made of poor quality components. Lets hope that version 2.0 is better.

Not worth the money
I had high hopes for this product, but after one season of use the pumping mechanism broke (fuel gushed out of handle rather than out of nozzle). I wrote this off, thinking it was due to water freezing in the mechanism over the winter (causing plastic pieces to split). I purchased the newer model, thinking it was going to be better: big mistake. The mechanism broke after a few uses, in warm weather conditions. The only positive aspect of the whole system is that it is a decent fuel can (albeit an expensive one....), as it uses the one opening system (venting through the main nozzle), rather than having the small breather nozzle, which always seems to be left open, allowing water to enter the can.
Overall, a nice concept, but very poor execution. I would NEVER recommend this product to anyone, until they fix the quality of the pumping mechanism (i.e more rugged, and able to last through more than one season of use).
