Good Thatcher
We thatch the lawn twice a year, and this does a super job. And at a great price.

Good dethatcher at a good price
Oh, dethatching is one of life most pleasurable experiences! But at least the right tool can make the job less miserable. It's even better when you can get it a good price.
We looked around at several home supply outlets for a good dethatching rake. There are some good ones, but the prices were excessive for our tastes. We found a decent one at Canadian Tire. These tines on this Home Basics model are the same style you will find on a Garant and open up matted grass just as effectively.
The joinery connecting the head to the handle is adjustable. It doesn't feel as sturdy as the joint on the expensive brands, but this is a budget tool. We don't use it frequently, so I suspect it will work just fine for us.

Good Quality
This does a very good job. It is hard work, as to be expected with a manual thaching rake. Does a very nice job all in all, worth the effort.
Price is great.

Proper Tool
Manual dethatching is a tough job no matter how you cut it, but the right rake makes a huge difference. This rake is more than amply built, and even though the job is still alot of work, it does a great job...and the price is great compared to others I've found in the market.

Keeps your lawn healthy...
...and is a terrific workout too! The tine design really opens up the matted grass and alows for heathy new growth.

Works Great
I used to try to use a basic dethatching rake every spring but used to put the work off as it was such hard work. I was going to hire someone to do my lawn this spring until I purchased this rake at Canadian Tire. Not only was it easier to use, it worked much better. I completed dethatching my lawn in 25% of the time
