Disappointing
I bought this saw because it felt extremely sharp (it is), retracted into the handle and had a carabiner clip which comes in pretty handy when I need both hands for climbing a ladder.
Two things about the saw are disappointing: 1) the thumbwheel for securing the blade is not very convenient and can be hard to tighten/loosen. I would have preferred some type of latch mechanism.
2) For me, this is why I'm now in the market for a new saw; most saws have a "set" to the teeth (they are bent very slightly outwards) so that the kerf (width of the cut) is slightly wider than the thickness of the blade. This helps prevent the blade from binding in the cut. This saw does not have that and binds constantly, especially in green wood. It was useless for that purpose. It is so bad, I can't help wondering if this was simply a missed step in the factory - a quality control issue.
My first bad experience with a Fiskars tool.

Great Pruning Saw, and safer than a chain saw
We've been clearing a lot of dead branches off our backyard trees. This Fiskars saw will make quick work of any branch under an inch in diameter. It does a good job going through green or dead wood. It can handle anything up to two inches, although it takes time and a lot of effort. (We can't confirm that it will go through branches three inches across.)
We've had the saw for two years. The blades has remained very sharp, despite heavy use. There is no rust on the blade or hinge, although we regularly wipe it down after jobs. The handle is sturdy and there are no signs of wear and tear at the hinge joint.
This saw is most definitely NOT a substitute for a chain saw, but it is much more safe to use in a tree than a chain saw and will cut down most branches quickly and easily.

Awesome product
If you need to do some pruning on any kind of tree, then this is the product for you. It can cut up to a 3" thick limb and it does it in seconds. The handle feels really comfortable and the blade slides into it when not in use. It is a lightweight, handy tool that you need to have. It even comes with a quick-release belt clip. I bought it for $20 but it's worth three that.
