Does not work well, poor coverage
Generally I'm happy to Scotts products. Last year I had some of the old "chemical" weed and feed and applied to my lawn and it worked very well.
Support the movement to a more "green" solution so this year applied the new CORN formulation as directed and at the suggested time with a scotts spreader. Given the size of the pellets, the bag does not go very far. Requires 2x the old versions. Dissappointed with the results. Have had to go and pull the crop of dandilions out of my lawn by hand and new ones are cropping up all the time?
In summary, not as effective as the old methods, requires 2x as much product (and cost), and does not work.
Better you just get on your weeds early by hand, and settle into a daily routine of weeding to stay on top of it.
Looking forward to someone developing a more effective product.

POISON to pets!
There are no warnings about not applying this product in areas where pets live. It has poisoned one of my dogs, who loves the stuff, even though it burns her mouth. To make it infinitely worse, even 3 weeks of rain hasn't completely gotten rid of the stuff - under the trees it's still edible pellets. My acre of fenced dog yard is now unusable through what is normally the best part of summer.

Great to prevent an outbreak of dandelions
I wanted to try this product because I'm already a Scotts addict for fertilizer. I was a bit anxious because of the bad reviews. However, after one application (needs more to cover the same area since the granules are bigger) all my neighbours are litterally infested with beautiful dandellions but I have almost none. I still have a few but very manageable by hand. I guess with my experience it's best to dethatch your lawn as soon as it's fairly dry early may and then put this on BEFORE any crabgrass or dandellion start to sprout. After that it's TOO LATE. Enjoy.

A waste of time
I've always had the best success with Scott's products so I took a chance on this. The regular Scott's ferilizer starts working within a few days of rain. After a month of excessive rain, the "nuggets" look the same as they did when I spread it on the lawn and the lawn still looks yellowish and full of spreading weeds. Not sure if this is "slow release" but it's the middle of May now and I can't wait until fall for something to happen. Scotts should never have put this product out as is. They should have mixed in some fertilizer that started to work right away. now I have to run out and buy the regular stuff costing me more money. What a waste of time and money.

waste of money and time
I spread this product over my lawn about 1 month ago (end of March). In the meantime we got plenty of rain and some days with sun. That should have been more than enough to get some nice grass growing. However, the grass looks pretty bad and has plenty of weeds. As far as I can tell, this product did nothing to my grass (neither fertilized it and nor prevented the weeds). Total waste of money and time.

So far so good :)
I spread this on my lawn a week ago right before it rained, and because it is supposed to prevent weeds I also spread it around my gravel driveway where I get a lot of weeds. I have a bird feeder, and so after reading the other reviews I thought I'd make sure it's full and keep an eye on that situation. The birds ignored and continue to ignore the Scotts product completely, I even spread it all around and under the bird feeder, they are not interested. The robins and crows that don't use the feeder are also not interested, and these little pellets that look like gerbil chow or something are still all over my driveway and lawn even though it rained, they're still the same shape. The squirrels and bunnies are also not interested. It's only been one week and it's April still, so I will return late May to report on how the prevention of weeds and grass health is going.

Not impressed
Tried this product and saw very little change. I had the same number of weeds, but the existing grass was greener. I usually love Scott's products but this one I probably won't buy again. I have a large yard and found this one expensive for the amount and not very effective. I am rural as well and always have a bird/animal problem which I am sure contributed to the problem.

Reasonably good job
With the pesticide ban, we Ontario homeowners have our options limited. I took a shot and tried this product this year. It's not too bad. It doesn't do anything for existing weeds, but did a fairly good job of keeping the number of new ones down. the large pelets make it easy to see where you've overseeded, underseeded, and identify any product that got on the sidewalk or driveway. It says to apply every 4 weeks, which I did not do. I have a 420 square metre lawn and 4 applications of this is going to run too high a cost. I just use normal fertilizers the rest of the year.

Save the Planet
I find it amaizing that people are complaining about birds eating an "organic" fertilizer. The alternative is chemicals produced as by products from oil and natural gas production that is killing our planet and future for our children. This product worked very well considering it comes from corn, which is a renewable resource and sustains our farmers without polluting rivers and lakes that my children swim in. My only complaint is that the coverage on the bag my be a bit exagerated, and again, being organic, you can apply as much and as thick as you want and you cannot burn your grass. There is not better alternative than a green and healthy future.
