the only brand of soil I'll use!

"I love that it has the fertilizer mixed in with it already! If I need a dryer soil, I just mix it with sand and/or perlite; for a heavier soil, I just add some sphagum moss. Great start for all my plants and cuttings! I'll repot new plants in this soil just to make sure it's taken care of from day 1!!"

"I first used this potting mix last year and I was really happy with it. My plants did well, and it didn't get compacted in the pots, which I find sometimes can happen with potting mixes. It's also nice to have plant food built in."

is this a good mix to use with black earth?

Answer:

This particular mix should NOT be used with black earth. Miracle Gro Moisture Control Potting Mix is not a garden soil as it is for indoor or outdoor container projects and is not for in-ground gardening.

You would want to use Miracle Gro Nursery Select Annual & Perennial Garden Soil 28.3L or Scotts Essentials Garden Soil 28.3L which would be ideal for inground flower beds and is premixed with Miracle Gro Plant Food for a 3 month feed. You would mix this 50/50 with native soil or black earth.
