Great Product
I bought this bbq Sept 2011 used it all winter with no problems. Was perfect in the summer of 2012 no issues starting it nice even heat. Did not notice any of the grates having the stainless steel peal away or anything, I used it a lot during the fall and up until Jan now cant use it only because of the pile of snow in front of it. I cant wait for spring so it will melt more and I can shovel my way to the bbq. I can not comment on the time it took to build it as I bought a demo from cdn tire for a great price.

Best BBQ we ever purchased
Although it took a number of hours assembling the BBQ, it was definitely worth all the effort.
The unique cast iron grill makes cooking a pleasure. The even heat and low temperatures required to cook the food make grilling so easy.
I would recommend this 4 - burner BBQ to anyone who wishes evenly cooked food with little effort.

Won't Last
After 1 year cross over assembly rusted out. Service group replaced the part quickly but it took 2 frustrating hours to remove the rusted parts, disassemble the burners, pry off the wing nuts located in a channel one sixteenth inch bigger than the size of the nut, install the new carry over assembly, replace the nuts and bolts (which you can't see and install by feel) and then realign the 4 burners to the gas inlet jets (the hardest part) so the unit will not explode on start up.
If this goes again I'm buying a Webber. Also this unit has the WORST flare ups I've ever seen. Keep a fire extinguisher handy.

one year after
After first year all print from front panel disappear. Timer is useless if you not see anything. Stall change color closed to hot places. Grease container very small. Thermometer show 175 F when is cold. Sill working ok

Unbelievably bad
I owned a Broil Mate BBQ which lasted for more than 10 years. I don't know why I paid more for this one but I thought with the Coleman name, it would be worth it. No indicators on knobs to let you know what your heat setting is, Stainless steel grills falling apart., I had parts replaced during first year, totally disappointed in this BBQ. Won't last another year.

Very good BBQ
I did a lot of research on BBQs before buying this one. I wanted something with a large enough cooking surface and a side burner.
After half a summer of bbqing I'm very pleased with my purchase. I really like the grill, its easy enough to clean and makes great grill marks on the steak. Everythign works really well and i've cooked up some great food on it.
The only adjustment I had to make was the heat. With 4 burners on high the bbq gets very hot very fast which is awesome. Since I'm usually cooking a small amount I've started only using 2 of the burners and it works great. Once I have a big backyard bbq for friends and family I'll be happy I had the 4. Love the BBQ. No notice of rusting at all but I do have a cover for it.
Make sure you buy it on sale :)

Rusty piece of Junk
I recently purchased this BBQ thinking that its a quality product made by Coleman. I have owned this BBQ for about 2 months now and noticed that the grills are rusty. Thinking I must of got a bad batch I called Coleman warranty service and to my astonishment they told me RUST is not under warranty and its written in my warranty book. Well I really feel that cooking on a rusty BBQ is a health hazard and I'm not willing to buy new grills for a piece of junk that will rust again, so I'm going to trash this BBQ and buy real a stainless steel BBQ somewhere else.

Pealing Stainless steel cooking grates!
I bought this BBQ after a long research. I wanted a BBQ that would last longer the 2 to 3 years an average BBQ would last before needing service. To my surprise, the Stainless steel cooking grates are pealing! If I had known the the grates were stainless steel coated, I would not have bought this item. I called the Coleman 1-800 number and I am out of luck. The one year warranty is over by 2 months and Coleman can do nothing for me. I am very disapointed with this product. I paid twice the price of an average BBQ without getting any better quality.

Excellent Quality
After a lot of research and hands on looking I replaced my old Weber with this BBQ. I read a lot of reviews myself so I thought I owed at least one back. I used this BBQ for 3 months and waited to write this review.
Do yourself a favor and look into the burners, quality of the build (especially the lid) and the grill itself. Don't be fooled by fancy looking stainless BBQ's that are made with cheap flimsy stainless that has so little steel it won't even hold a magnet. I can't say enough about the quality, and also how fast and hot this BBQ gets. It'll hit 700 degrees in about 5 mins. It almost gets too hot, as I had to turn the burners very low to use it.
The only negative would be it doesn't have features such as an infared burner or searer. I wasn't interested in those features, but it's something to consider for someone who is. Otherwise....best BBQ I've owned to date. The comparable weber (which was similar in quality and grills, but the burners weren't as good) was around $1000. This is a great deal at $550.

Good value
It does take about 2 hours to put it together but is fairly easy to do. I would recommend to take out all the screws and bolts and put them in a tackle box and mark each divider to make it easier to grab. Pretty well built overall. The knobs have nice feedback when you turn them but are plastic (with rubber inserts), but no issues so far as far as melting that other have reported. The stainless steel grates are hollow, NOT solid, but it looks great, performs well and is easy to clean. Doors open up smoothly and the magnets give it a nice solid closing feel. The upper rack doesn't move so it won't fall apart. Higher end models will have better materials (metal knobs, solid stainless steel grills...), a prestigous name and extra features such as IR, rotiserrie... but this is a good mid range gas bbq to buy
