Very happy with this gazebo

"I'm surprised by some the bad reviews - this gazebo was easy to put up by the two of us and is very sturdy - the poles are heavy - a lot better than the leaf gazebo which i purchased before - well worth the extra money"

Do Not Buy!!!

"Difficult to assemble. Needed 4 people. Zippers are faulty. Walls and ceiling canvas poor quality. Absolutely not bugproof. If this is what you're looking for...beware. Too tall. My wife has to climb on stool to open and close zippers. Think before you buy this one."

Buy a less e xpensive model

"Roof has small triangular pockets to accept the roof spines. This means that there is a lot of pressure on 8 small points. That equals the spine coming through the pocket.
Also the solid panels attach inside the screen. When you close them, and the breeze blows, the walls blow in on you. I had mine one week and the post poked through the roof pocket! I wish I would have just bought a cheaper one and replace it every other year!! Lesson learned."

Looks Great - Very Happy

"Great Product overall - We chose this one because we like the poles rather that the 2 hinged pieces on the corners - we also like how the canopy does not hang down at all - we had one previously that did and it would catch the wind and the canopy would rip - this one there is no flapping or much movement. We secured the posts to 4 patio stone and it never moves.
Was really simple to assemble."

Bigger than advertised!

"This certainly appears to be a sturdy gazebo but I can't really say for certain because I'm only half way through building it. I've encountered a pretty serious problem! The advertising states that the gazebo is 10X10 however it would appear they forgot to include the measurements of the 4 huge posts that hold it up and the first roof layer has pieces that stick out about 6 inches which I am assuming will be used to hook the canopy. My problem is from the house out there is only 10 feet of deck and the deck is a good 7 inches off the lawn.. Now what? I have already repackaged and returned a poor quality gazebo so I'm really not in the mood to have to go through all that again."

GREAT buy

"With the help of a couple friends, this gazebo was up and enjoyed during a BBQ by all our friends and family who are (understandably) bug shy. My husband and I look forward to enjoying this product throughout the summertime. WELL worth the money!"

Well engineered

"Two people and 3 hours and it was up. Great advice to just finger tighten all the roof assembly prior to installing the two canvas tops ... then retighten everything. Seems solid and good quality parts. Looks great on our deck (secured with 3" brass screws - 3 per leg that are not in the hardware kit). Instructions are line drawings - few words, so helps if you are handy at putting things together. 6 foot ladder is a must as you have to climb up into the centre to attach the top roof assembly. Hope it handles are S. Alberta winds! Taking the canvas tops off would NOT be an easy thing - once a season, but not a quick job in bad weather."

Havana Gazebo

"This Havana gazebo seems like it is strong enough to weather My husband assembled the frame himself in 2 hrs... I wish they would include a spare top as part of the package... A year down the road this top will probably be unavailable . The top should be available for a few years at least as it will either be badly discolored , rotten or have blow away before the frame is ever unusable. Enjoy your shady and almost bug free spot this summer and hopefully for many more summers.. Vera"

Wow-no black flies here!!

"Wow-now we can finally enjoy the outdoors and no black flies or mesquitoes can get to us.All the neighbours are jealousGreat looking piece of furniture in our backyard and looks wonderfut with plants from Canadian Tire`s Garden Centre.
Easy to enstall and we are able to leave the frame up year round."

Can bars get replacement? If yes, how ?

Bought it this Spring, it works fine. But it seems a few screws are getting loose with time and today's strong wind cause the top flipped and a few bars got broken.

What is the height on the outside edge?

It is at least 7 feet high...I am 5'4" and I cannot reach the top outer edge.

Box is 18" wide, 12" deep and 8ft long. It fit in our SUV with the front seat flipped forward.

the box has been destroyed but my husband said it was very very heavy. To me the box appeared to be about 7 feet long , maybe a bit more and the width had to be about at the least 24 in. Canadian Tire should be able to give you the specs on this products box isze

What is the total pkg weight?

I would like to be able to decide whether or not to fasten it to the deck. If I don't have to, I won't.

Answer:

It is fairly heavy. If you do not fasten to your deck, it comes with spikes so you can affix the posts to the ground. Only prob is that there are no grommet holes to fix the screens to the ground, and the only attachment point for them is midway up the corner poles. This means if there is a breeze, the screen walls blow in quite far.

We fixed ours to a wooden deck.
