Not the best mounting brackets
I had previously purchased essentially the same awning about 10 years ago. I bought this one as a replacement as the old one had grown some mold and sprouted a couple of holes. The new unit had stamped steel mounts that did not align with my old holes. The old unit had solid one piece aluminium brackets that I opted to reuse, even though some shimming was required. The new unit has a slimmer frame to it but installed easily and works like a charm. I highly recommend taking down the awing and storing in the winter as the material won't last otherwise. Unable to find replacement material either.

Functional
I purchased this awning to replace one about 10 years old.
The fabric finally deteriorated and recovering it was not worth it. The previous one I paid a bit more money for at Home Depot and this awning appeared to be the same.
However when I removed the packaging I noticed the quality was not as good. The metal frame is made of smaller gauge tubing, the mounting brackets are flimsier.
I decided to mount this awing using the existing CNC aluminum brackets from my previous awning but had to use small spacers to make the tubing fit snug. I noticed that when this awning is extended the frame is showing a lot more movement in the slight breeze.
Also the next day it rained and water puddled on the fabric. I had to change the angle considerably in order for the water to run off. I recommend this product when on sale.

Good product at sale price
We have 2 of these, purchased at 1/2 price in the fall about 4 years ago. One always worked perfectly, the other was always a bit wonky to roll up. As it turned out, last year somebody forgot to roll the bad one up and we had a windstorm that night. The whole thing was smashed against the eave of the house, breaking the aluminum arms just past the joints. This year, I disassembled both arms, shortend them, and put it back together, almost good as new (doesn't want to finish up evenly when rolled up).
For those interested, there's a huge coil spring in each arm, about 30" long, 1" diameter, 1/4" coils, and cable. It joins the hinged arm end at the wall to the other arm just past the 'elbow' joint. You store the energy in the spring when you crank it in, and the springs provide the 'push' to unroll it.
Some issues have been rain, as it will fill quickly with puddles at the end, which have to be poked to drain or the material will get stretched. I know, why use it in rain, but it is useful to keep light showers from ruining a barbeque. The cranking in requires some effort to overcome that spring tension I described, so arthritics or weak of arm muscles could be challenged.
The overall design of this is quite ingenious, build quality is good, but the fabric will fade in the sun, especially the front fringed piece which is always exposed. I would hesitate to buy at full price though, since you're on your own for major repair. Dunno about parts, that appears to be CT's department.

Not what I expected
I bought this product just over a month ago. I got it home only to realize it didn't have hardware to connect to the siding on my house. After purchasing what I needed to fasten it to my house, one of the screws to adjust the height broke. A couple days later the other screw on the other side broke. I'm still using it but need to drill out the broken screws and put better ones in now. Other than that it's not a bad awning.

You will need a new 14mm concrete drill bit
Although the awning was wrapped in bubble wrap, the scratches on the arms made me feel it may have been previously purchased and returned.
The main complaint I have is that the 14 mm concrete drill that came with the hardware had a four-sided shank which probably fits 4 point drill chucks in China but not the 3 point chuck on the brand new hammer drill I purchased at Canadian Tire to put this thing up with. I tried to find another bit at Canadian Tire and Home Depot but the closest I could find was a 1/2" bit. Had to hammer the anchors into the wall since the holes were slightly smaller. Luckilly I only cracked 1 brick so far. Just find a 14 mm bit with a round shank if you are able.

Lasted a long time
We received this CT awning as a wedding present six years ago and it's been exposed to all of the elements since then. And only now, after this past summer season, does it need to be replaced due to wear and tear. We were considering having it refabriced (if that's even a word), but found it to work out less expensive and less trouble to just buy another one of them from Canadian Tire and put it up in the spring. Looking forward to more years of shade and rain protection with our new awning!

Awesome
This product is great!!! You can put it out or put it back in as you please. It is perfect when the wind is up because you can put it away and not worry about it breaking because of the wind. I love this product
